UK EQUITIES
The second half of last year was quite something for UK equities, with the domestic market enjoying a rally on a scale that’s rarely seen. Enthusiasm peaked at the end of February 2026, when the US-Israeli attacks on Iran brought on a more sombre mood. Still, despite the volatility of the past few months, the FTSE 100, the FTSE 250 and the FTSE Small Cap are all up by double-digit amounts over the year.
A repeat of last year’s run feels less likely than it did in January, but from improved performance to M&A activity, there are plenty of signs that foreign investors have started to take notice of the UK once again. ETFs offer an easy way to gain broad exposure to the large-cap segment of the home market.
