BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Gas prices in Idaho fell this week, AAA Idaho said in a release.
Gas prices in Pocatello and Lewiston are the highest in the state, at $4.14 a gallon and $4.11 a gallon, respectively, while the state average is $4.02 a gallon. Franklin has the lowest average, at $3.73 a gallon, a few cents lower than the national average.
The national average sits at $3.79 a gallon, which is seven cents less than a week ago, 40 cents less than a month ago, but still 65 cents higher than a year ago. Idaho sits at ninth place for most expensive fuel. Forty-eight states saw price drops this week.
“We are getting so close to the $4 mark for the state average, and some parts of Idaho are already below that number,” Matthew Conde, AAA Idaho public affairs director, said. “Fingers crossed that prices continue to drop — and stay that way — this week.”
Crude oil is near $68 a barrel, which is almost the same as last year. If trends continue, additional savings could be on the way.
