Notabene Secures Strategic Investment From Ripple to Expand Enterprise Stablecoin Payments

Notabene has received a strategic investment from Ripple as the two companies deepen their collaboration to accelerate institutional adoption of compliant stablecoin payments. The investment supports Notabene’s expansion of its B2B payments platform while strengthening Ripple’s enterprise stablecoin ecosystem through the integration of Ripple USD (RLUSD) into Notabene’s payment infrastructure.

Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.

The partnership is centered on scaling enterprise-grade stablecoin payments by integrating RLUSD into Notabene Flow, the company’s B2B stablecoin payments platform, while also exploring how Notabene’s payment authorization technology can complement Ripple Payments. The collaboration is designed to address one of the biggest challenges facing institutional digital asset adoption: enabling secure, compliant transactions before funds move across blockchain networks.

Founded in 2020 and headquartered in New York, Notabene operates what it describes as the world’s largest open network for regulated on-chain transactions. Its platform combines Travel Rule compliance with pre-transaction verification and payment authorization, allowing financial institutions to validate counterparties and transaction details before settlement. Today, the network connects more than 2,300 institutions across over 100 jurisdictions, serves more than 280 customers and facilitates more than $2 trillion in annualized transaction volume.

The investment reflects growing demand for regulated infrastructure as financial institutions increasingly incorporate stablecoins into payment, treasury and settlement operations. Rather than focusing solely on faster settlement, banks and payment providers are seeking infrastructure that supports identity verification, compliance and transaction authorization without adding operational complexity.

Under the agreement, Ripple’s enterprise payments ecosystem and RLUSD stablecoin will be combined with Notabene’s institutional trust network to expand compliant stablecoin transactions across one of the industry’s largest regulated digital asset payment networks. The companies expect the integration to make enterprise stablecoin payments easier for banks, fintechs, custodians and other financial institutions to deploy at scale.

“Stablecoins are quickly becoming part of mainstream financial infrastructure, but institutional adoption depends on more than efficient settlement rails alone,” said Jack McDonald, senior vice president of stablecoin at Ripple. He said trusted identity, compliance and transaction authorization remain essential requirements for enterprise adoption and that Notabene’s network addresses a key barrier to scaling regulated digital asset payments.

Notabene’s Flow platform extends the company’s compliance infrastructure into broader payment capabilities, including recurring payments, pull payments and automated invoicing designed for business-to-business transactions. As organizations move beyond pilot programs, these capabilities are intended to support production-scale payment workflows while meeting regulatory and internal risk management requirements.

Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Pelle Braendgaard said financial institutions have largely moved beyond evaluating whether to adopt stablecoins and are now focused on implementing them safely within existing operations. He said institutions need reliable ways to identify counterparties, understand transaction purposes and authorize payments before settlement, capabilities that become more valuable when paired with Ripple’s global payments network and enterprise-ready RLUSD stablecoin.

The investment comes as regulatory frameworks continue to evolve for digital assets worldwide, providing greater clarity for institutional adoption. Industry momentum has accelerated with new regulatory initiatives, including the GENIUS Act in the United States and the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework, encouraging banks, payment companies and fintechs to expand stablecoin offerings and tokenized cash products.

Looking ahead, Notabene plans to leverage Ripple’s enterprise ecosystem to accelerate the rollout of Notabene Flow globally while continuing to build strategic relationships with additional financial institutions. The company said expanding partnerships remains a core component of its growth strategy as it seeks to establish compliant stablecoin payment infrastructure for regulated financial markets.

Founded in 2012, Ripple provides blockchain-based enterprise solutions spanning payments, custody, liquidity and treasury management. Its RLUSD stablecoin and XRP-powered infrastructure support financial institutions seeking to move and manage value across traditional and digital financial systems.
