First Alert Weather Days continue as heat indices reached 110 yesterday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – With another 90-degree day today, we will officially be in a heat wave. Yesterday, the heat index jumped up around 110 across 21Country. More of the same will be in store through the rest of the week.

While the forecast will continue to be boring through the rest of the work week, we will see some unsettled weather arrive for the weekend. As high pressure moves to the east, it will take the dry conditions with it.

Pop up showers and storms are possible throughout the weekend from Friday into next week. Severe chances are still unknown, but expect most activity to be in the afternoon and evening due to midday heating. Heavy rain will also help temporarily cool things down, but could also impact holiday festivities on the Fourth. Make sure to keep an eye on the radar if you have any kind of outdoor plans.
