Stock market today: Nifty50 above 25,000; BSE Sensex rises over 700 points

Stock market today: Nifty50 and BSE Sensex, the Indian equity benchmark indices, opened in green on Monday. While Nifty50 went above 25,000, BSE Sensex gained over 700 points. At 9:55 AM, Nifty50 was trading at 25,061.25, up 208 points or 0.84%.BSE Sensex was at 82,456.36, up 735 points or 0.90%.Experts say that the market outlook remains positive, with broader market participation anticipated due to supportive macro factors and earnings momentum.VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Investments Limited says, “News of India becoming the fourth largest economy in the world would be a near-term morale boost for the market. RBI’s bumper dividend payment to the government exceeding the budget estimates will help contain the fiscal deficit target for FY26 at 4.4%. This, in turn, can sustain the low inflation and declining interest rate trend which will continue to support the equity market.FII inflows which have been strong in early May have turned erratic recently indicating potential selling at higher levels.”“It appears that the good news regarding tariffs is behind us.
