On Tuesday, February 17, the author of the best-selling personal finance book ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad,’ Robert Kiyosaki, wrote an X post warning his followers that he believes the ‘giant crash’ he initially forecasted more than a decade ago is now ‘imminent.’
Specifically, the famed investor harkened back to the 2013 ‘Rich Dad’s Prophecy’ and the prediction from the time that the next true stock market crash will be the worst in history.
Still, as dire as the tone of the post is, Robert Kiyosaki also revealed he is ‘excited and can’t wait’ for the collapse to begin, as such calamities are, as he stated, ‘priceless assets going on sale.’
Why R. Kiyosaki ‘can’t wait’ for the ‘giant crash’
According to the famous author, he is not worried for his own well-being during the ‘imminent’ and ‘giant’ crash since he estimates he is invested in robust long-term assets.
As many times before, Robert Kiyosaki explicitly named two commodities – Gold and Silver – and two cryptocurrencies – Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).
Furthermore, the prominent investor not only reinforced his confidence in his investments but stated he will be buying more of each once the crash begins. Kiyosaki simultaneously strongly implied he hopes his followers will do the same as he does regarding the four assets, urging them by writing:
“Let this crash make you richer.”
Can ‘Rich Dad’ R. Kiyosaki’s analysis be trusted
While the tumult in the stock, cryptocurrency, commodity, and currency markets in early 2026 makes Robert Kiyosaki’s warnings of an imminent crash sound plausible, it is worth noting that the author frequently sounds the alarm that a massive financial collapse is imminent.
In fact, the investor publishes such X so frequently that many netizens have taken to joking along the lines of Kiyosaki predicting 40 out of the last 4 recessions.
Similarly, the author’s pledge to purchase more gold, silver, Bitcoin, and Ethereum can be called into question since, after claiming he has been continuously investing in these assets throughout 2025, he made a post earlier in 2026 in which he apparently revealed he purchased no BTC in years and no gold in decades.
Still, despite the dubious contents and wording of the posts, the ‘Robert Kiyosaki portfolio’ has undeniably been performing well in recent years amidst the cryptocurrency and commodity boom.
Similarly, the author fired back against his critics regarding his possible lack of new investments by claiming that the overall strategy is far more important than the exact date of transactions.
