AEC-Kellton Joint Venture Targets GCC Oil &#038; Gas Digitalization with OPTIMA Platform &#8211; News and Statistics

Action Energy Company (AEC), Kuwait’s local partner for integrated upstream services, has formed a joint venture with global digital transformation firm Kellton to accelerate digital transformation across the GCC energy sector, according to a report by OGN/TradeArabia News Service.

Under the agreement, AEC will own a 51 percent stake in the venture, while Kellton will hold the remaining 49 percent. The joint venture is initially established for a five-year term and is automatically renewable.

The partnership will concentrate on digital oilfield solutions and IT services, encompassing enterprise software, cloud computing, cybersecurity, systems integration, and managed services. A primary focus will be the regional deployment of Kellton’s OPTIMA digital oilfield platform, which is designed to improve operational efficiency, asset performance, and AI-powered decision-making.

While initially targeting opportunities in Kuwait, the joint venture plans to open its first regional office in Doha before expanding into Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Oman, supporting broader digital transformation across the GCC energy industry.

Ivan Chikunov, General Manager of Services & BD of Action Energy Company, commented that the joint venture advances AEC’s strategy to expand its oilfield services by digitally modernizing field operations and enhancing quality. He noted that the addressable market for oil and gas digitalization across the GCC exceeds $1 billion annually, and the objective is to capture at least 5 percent of this market over time. He added that combining AEC’s operational footprint, industry relationships, and commitment to local content development and knowledge transfer with Kellton’s AI and digital capabilities positions the venture to deliver data-driven solutions that improve operational performance and support the modernization of the GCC energy sector.

Krishna Chintam, Managing Director at Kellton, indicated that the GCC is becoming one of the world’s most ambitious markets for AI adoption and enterprise transformation. He stated that the joint venture pairs local market strength with global technology expertise to enable organizations to transform at scale. He added that together with AEC, Kellton can bring AI-led innovation and the capabilities of OPTIMA to customers across the region, delivering measurable outcomes for enterprises. He described the joint venture as a long-term platform for AI-powered innovation across the GCC energy ecosystem, positioning energy organizations to modernize operations and unlock new opportunities for growth and efficiency.
